The Cathedral Shrine of the Transfiguration, an open-air cathedral of the Diocese of Virginia, was consecrated in 1925. Each of its stones was pulled by horse or rolled by local people from the mountain that embraces it. Read more »





The Virginia House (formerly known as the Orkney Springs Hotel) is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The 96,000 square-foot structure was built in 1873 and restored in 1987. Read more »
